Scripture memorization is absolutely fundamental to the development of our spirit man. It is a spiritual exercise that must be cultivated by every believer in Christ Jesus. In all the disciplines of our spiritual life, Scripture memorization is a fundamental way of transforming our minds with what it needs – The Word of God. This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth. Joshua 1:8! But How does it get in your mouth? Through Holy Spirit aided Memorization and Recitation.

Definition: The word memorize means to commit to memory or to learn by heart. Scripture memorization therefore is the process of committing the word of God to memory to be recalled as needed.

This cultivates an atmosphere of personal growth in the Spirit, increases the capacity of your spirit man as a carrier of God’s ever abiding presence- Eph 3:16, nurtures your relationship with the Holy Spirit, enhances your consciousness of the supernatural, Draws you closer to God and hence improving your relationship with The Heavenly Father. Memorization obviously increases your knowledge of the Word of God. You possess a vast reservoir of Word and as you meditate upon, you are gradually being conformed into the image of the Son of God which is the ultimate purpose of salvation.Rom 8:29.

I pray that The Spirit of Almighty God will empower you with the Grace to cultivate a lifestyle of scripture memorization. If you make a conscious decision to memorize one scripture every month, by the end of the year you will have a reservoir of twelve scriptures inside your spirit. If you do that consistently for the next 10 years, you must have memorized 120 scriptures . These are the true Words of God Almighty which you can effectively meditate upon every day. What if you memorize more than one scripture every month?

Remember,, The only thing you will take out of this world when your God given days are fulfilled is the Word of God. “All flesh is as grass, And all the glory of man as the flower of the grass. The grass withers, And its flower falls away, But the word of the Lord endures forever.” Verse 25: Now this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you. 1 Peter 1:24-25 NKJ
