How I Got To Memorize 50+ Chapters Of The Holy Bible
Many years ago when I received Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior, I did not have a bible. I used to stay up late at night when my room mates were gone to sleep and study the word of God from their bible. The more I studied the Word of God, the more I discovered that a certain void was gradually filled up inside of me. So I cultivated an extremely zealous attitude toward the word of God. In those days, I desired to pray for long hours but since I could not pray in tongues at that time, I started memorizing large portions of Scripture. So during my personal prayer time , I would prayerfully recite those portions of the bible I had memorized in the presence of the Lord. That is how I fell in love with memorizing whole Chapters of the bible. Occasionally during service on Sundays, I would ask permission from the Pastor to do a presentation by reciting entire chapters of the bible. As a young believer at that time, I looked around but saw no one else doing such ministrations. As a result, I was discouraged and neither memorized nor did a presentation of whole bible chapters for many years. One day around the year 2014 hungry for more of God, I was watching A Man of God on Youtube. In the middle of his sermon, He began to recite an entire bible Chapter with such Holy Ghost Passion. That was it. That is what my Soul longed for in so many years. That single encounter transformed my entire spiritual journey with The Lord Jesus Christ.
I got inspired, motivated, revived, empowered and challenged at the same time. The passion for memorizing entire chapters of the bible was rekindled within me. Since then by the special grace of the most High God, I have memorized more than 50 Chapters of the Holy Bible. My purpose of memorization has always been for the development of my spirit and the transformation of my soul through meditation of God’s Word so that I may be conformed to the image of the son of God all the days of my life. I believe this is an extremely crucial part of working out one’s own salvation ( Phil 2:12,13) so you can be transformed into the same image ( 2 Cor 3:18) and getting ready for the life to come in Christ Jesus. I am hungry for God’s Presence and my entire life is dedicated to have as much of his Word dwell richly in my spirit as possible ( Col 3:16). I pray your hunger is even deeper and stronger. “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness for they shall be filled.” Mathew 5:6. Remember what the scripture says: “ He who has my commandment and keeps them, it is he who loves me and he who loves me will be loved of my father and I will love him and I will manifest myself to him” John 14:21.
